Frequently asked questions

Is the quote really free?

Yes. You tell us about the door, it gets priced properly, and you decide in your own time. No charge and no pressure.

How quickly will I hear back?

Fast. The more detail you give in the form (door type, size, what's wrong, photos if you have them), the faster and more accurate the quote.

How much does a garage door cost in Teesside?

Replacements typically run £900 to £2,000 supplied and fitted. Up and overs start around £700, insulated rollers £900 to £1,800, sectionals £1,200 to £2,500. Repairs are far cheaper: £80 to £250 for most faults.

My garage door spring has snapped. What should I do?

Stop using the door, the spring carries most of its 60 to 100kg weight, and a door on one spring is heavy and unpredictable. Spring and cable replacement is the most common repair going, typically £90 to £180.

Can my existing door be automated?

Usually, yes, if it runs smoothly and is properly balanced: £350 to £700 fitted with remotes and safety systems. Worn doors get repaired first, an operator won't fix a heavy or binding door.

Which type of garage door is best?

Depends on the garage: sectional for integral garages and insulation, roller where ceiling space and convenience matter, up and over for the best value on a simple detached garage. Our comparison guide walks through the trade-offs.

Are roller garage doors secure?

Good ones are: auto-locking when closed, deep side guides and a proper safety edge. Budget single-skin doors with shallow guides are the weak version. Older up and overs with a single locking bar are the least secure of all.

Do I need planning permission for a new garage door?

No, replacing a door like for like needs no permission. Creating or widening an opening can be different, and some new-build estates carry covenants on door styles and colours.

Which areas do you cover?

All TS postcodes: Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, Thornaby, Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Hartlepool, Yarm, Ingleby Barwick and everywhere between, TS1 through TS27.

Will I be pressured to buy?
